Listen.

80 minutes · 19 tracks · recorded live in one continuous take

№ 02 — The ritual

Hands on the lightning.

Night, from behind the crowd: glowing fluorescent tubes raised into a peak over the Tesla coil
A crowd under crossed, glowing tubes at the coil, lit blue and violet in the dark
Someone reaches a lit tube to the top of the coil and a small arc jumps to it
People hold glowing tubes around the coil on its table while a thin arc reaches one of them
In purple light, a person in a patterned robe raises a lit tube toward the coil
Seen from behind the DJ gear: the performer holds a lit tube up beside the coil, more tubes glowing around it
Long exposure in the tent: glowing tubes streak the dark like a field of blue and orange rays around the coil
№ 03 — Watch

Lightning, to the beat.

58 seconds · with sound, recorded on a phone at the coil

№ 04 — What it is

The instrument is the room.

The crowd plays with fluorescent tubes, becoming part of the music: hold one up and it lights, drawing lightning from the coil. The coil is a speaker as well as a spectacle: the arc itself makes the sound, ionising the air into notes.
